Professor Waqar Bhatti was appointed as a consultant to the University Hospitals of South Manchester in 2001 and organised and directed the first comprehensive Musculoskeletal ultrasound imaging service in Manchester on his appointment to the University Hospital South Manchester. Services offered included the introduction of the first dedicated finger ultrasound service, imaging for forefoot disorders and other more common problems such as Shoulder, Elbow, Wrist, Hip and knee disorders. This service complemented the first complete MR arthrography service in South Manchester at the University Hospital of South Manchester where we are committed to make significant improvements in current and future healthcare and the well being of patients through imaging research and development.
Waqar Bhatti was educated at The Manchester Grammar School for Boys and later The Victoria University Of Manchester. His early medical training days were spent at The Manchester Royal Infirmary and the late Withington Hospital.
He was appointed as a honorary professor at the University of Salford in November 2013.
His previous appointment include Lecturer in Anatomy at The Victoria University Of Manchester.
